I got my Master’s degree in Folklife and Southern Culture, and Western culture is one of my passions, so it’s no surprise that the Western Folklife Center is high on my list of favorite heritage organizations. In its context, you could even say it’s my dream job.Like many cultural organizations, the WFC is undergoing tough times. After cutting its staff by 30 percent, it still faces shortfalls.
